Our Story

How Mitra Salur Started

Mitra Salur was founded in 2011 by Ahmad Razali, a qualified plumber who had spent more than a decade working on residential and light commercial projects across Sarawak. He noticed that most homeowners in Kuching had no straightforward way to get a tap or toilet fixed at a price they could understand before the job started. Quotes were vague. Bills often arrived higher than expected. Work sometimes had to be redone.

The name Mitra Salur means, roughly, "pipe partner" — something that stays close to the household and keeps things flowing. From the beginning, the business was set up around three simple commitments: turn up on time, charge what was agreed, and leave the job done properly.

Today the team handles three focused services — single-tap repairs, toilet and bidet servicing, and whole-home pipework surveys — each priced clearly. Customers booking a survey receive a written report they can keep and use. We work Monday to Saturday across Kuching and nearby areas.

Mission

To give Sarawak households access to plumbing work that is priced fairly, completed fully, and backed by honest communication — every time.

How We Work

Each job is scoped to one visit. We bring the tools and parts needed. If something falls outside the agreed scope, we tell the homeowner before touching it. No surprises on the bill.

Where We Operate

Based at Jalan Padungan, Kuching. We cover Kuching city and surrounding Sarawak areas within a reasonable distance — no hidden call-out fees within our service zone.

Standards

Our Working Standards

The practices we follow on every job, not just when it is convenient.

Registered Trade Practitioners

Our plumbers hold current registration with Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan Malaysia (CIDB), as required for licensed plumbing work in Sarawak.

Approved Parts Only

We use fittings that meet Malaysian Standards (MS) specifications. We do not substitute cheaper alternatives to save on cost at the customer's long-term expense.

Post-Job Testing

Every tap or sanitary fitting is tested for correct flow and pressure before we consider the job complete. We do not leave until the issue is resolved.

Tidy Work Areas

We lay protective covering in work areas and remove all waste from the site. The space is left as we found it, minus the plumbing problem.

Documented Survey Reports

Pipework survey customers receive a structured written report within 24 hours of the visit. Reports are formatted for use with contractors, architects, or insurers.

Customer Data Handled Carefully

Contact details and property information collected during bookings are used only to deliver the service. We do not share or sell this data to third parties.

Our Approach

Plumbing Work in Kuching — What We Have Learned

Older Kuching homes — particularly those built before the late 1990s — often carry a mix of galvanised and copper pipework that has been extended piecemeal over decades. Joint conditions vary, and long-term damp can hide behind tiles and cabinetry for years before it becomes obvious. The Whole-Home Pipework Survey was designed specifically for owners of these properties who want to understand what they have before committing to renovation or sale.

Newer terrace and apartment units in areas like Kota Samarahan and Petra Jaya tend to face a different set of issues: tap cartridges that wear faster in high-use households, angle valves that have never been turned off and have seized, and bidet sprayer hoses that deteriorate in Sarawak's humid conditions. Our Single-Tap and Toilet & Bidet services address these directly, with parts sized and sourced for common Malaysian fittings.

Transparent pricing matters to us because we have seen how hidden call-out fees and variable labour rates make customers reluctant to act on small problems until they become bigger ones. A dripping tap left for six months wastes water and corrodes the area around the fitting. We keep our service prices fixed so that a quick decision to book does not feel like a financial gamble.

Our team covers Kuching city and nearby Sarawak communities. We do not subcontract, which means the person who takes your booking is familiar with the team doing your job. Communication stays straightforward from the first call to the completed work.
